Man Accused of Theft, Being AWOL From Military Arrested in OKC

Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man wanted in Colorado for theft and being absent without leave from the Army.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man wanted in Colorado for theft and being absent without leave from the Army.

Colorado authorities tipped off Oklahoma law enforcement that Lewis Chastain, 28, had family in Oklahoma City and would likely be in the area.

Deputies tracked down and arrested Chastain at a fast food restaurant at West Reno Avenue and South Meridian Avenue in Oklahoma City.

Chastain was wanted in El Paso County, Colorado for being AWOL from the Army, multiple warrants including theft for $50,000 and for writing more than $100,000 worth of bad checks.

Chastain is being held in the Oklahoma County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
