NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Police in Norman caught two suspected bank robbers following a heist at Bank of the West.
Witnesses said two men held up the bank at 2122 W. Main Street just before 5 p.m. Thursday. Officers responded to a hold-up alarm, but by the time they arrived the robbers were gone.
A short time later, patrol officers started chasing a car thought to be driven by the suspects. The two men inside jumped out and started running, but police caught up to them. Officers said evidence they found suggested the men were involved in the bank robbery.
The suspects, 22-year-old David Allen Brown and 20-year-old Joshua Dan Rose, both from Norman, were arrested and charged in federal court with bank robbery.
Both men are scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday, November 9 at 3:00 p.m.
If convicted, the men each face up to 20 years in federal prison.
