Oklahoma City Named Among Top Towns For Young People

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City has been named among the 100 Best Communities for Young People.

America's Promise Alliance recognized Oklahoma City for its efforts helping children achieve. The alliance cited the city's attention to mentoring and youth fitness programs for inner-city youth as being reasons for the honor.

Programs including Mentoring Matters, Oklahoma City Kid's Memorial Marathon, the Oklahoma City Fit Kids Coalition and business including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Devon Energy, INTEGRIS Health, Chesapeake Energy and SandRidge Energy were named as contributing positively to the community.
