OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gov.-Elect Mary Fallin talked Wednesday about her victory and the Republican sweep in Oklahoma and the nation during News 9 at Four.

Fallin made history Tuesday by becoming the state's first female governor. The Republican defeated opponent Jari Askins by winning 60 percent of the vote. It will be the first time in Oklahoma history Republicans have controlled the governor's office, House and Senate.

Fallin said her top priorities after taking office will be getting Oklahoma's economy back on track, strengthening education, making government more efficient, and standing up to Washington, if necessary.

Because Fallin will be the state's first female governor, many people have wondered what Oklahomans should call her husband.  The governor-elect said people should simply call him, "Wade."
