OKLAHOMA CITY -- Just a few weeks ago Thunder Ally, the place fans gather before the game, was just a dirt-mound. The city promised the construction would be completed by the Thunder's opening game, but the project was just one of several changes in downtown in the past year.

Roads are ripped up, new landmarks are going up, yet few are fed up. Evidence of downtown's massive makeover is all around but the city promised Thunder fans would have no problem getting in.

"No sir, it was smooth sailing all the way," said Mickey Morse, Pauls Valley resident.

And fan after fan said the city kept its promise.

"Did you have any problems getting in with the construction or anything," asked News 9's Rusty Surette.

"No not really. Just a little congestion right here at this corner, that's about it," said Jay Salgado, Shawnee resident

So season three begins for the league's brightest and best and faithful fans loudly proclaimed this is Oklahoma's year.

"We're going to go to the playoffs," said Brenda Brazall, Yukon resident.

"It looks like it's going to be a promising season after last year making it to the playoffs. I hope to make it again this year," Salgado said.

One more big change this season was the temporary renaming of the Ford Center to the Oklahoma City Arena. That change was made after the naming rights agreement between the Thunder and the Oklahoma Ford Dealers association ran out.

The Thunder beat the Chicago Bulls 106-95 Wednesday night in the season opener.
