OKLAHOMA CITY -- A security guard at Penn Square Mall said he fired shots at suspected shoplifters after they tried to run him over with their vehicle.
According to an Oklahoma City police report, on October 15 Timothy Kiddoo was working as a security guard at Dillard's when he attempted to stop two women accused of shoplifting.
Kiddoo, 32, told police the women got into a red, older-model four-door sedan in the mall's parking lot and accelerated in his direction. Kiddoo said he was able to move out of the way, but the vehicle still "brushed against him."
The report said that's when Kiddoo pulled out his gun and began firing shots at the vehicle as it fled the area.
No bystanders were hit. At last check police said the women were still on the run.
Kiddoo also works as a police officer for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Oklahoma City. A spokesperson said Kiddoo is still employed with the VA Medical Center but wouldn't elaborate on anything else citing it as a personnel matter.
