Federal Drug Enforcement Administration Warns Against Fine Scam

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration reported a man posing as an agent tried to extort money from a woman in Oklahoma City.

The victim told investigators the man told her she had committed a felony, and if she paid a fine she wouldn't be prosecuted.

The woman didn't fall for the scam, but the DEA wants to make sure others don't either. Official with the DEA said agents will never ask for a fine instead of making an arrest.
