TULSA, Oklahoma -- Weather and Oktoberfest seem to go hand in hand. The four-day festival is underway now at River West Festival Parks, and organizers are preparing for bad weather.

News On 6 meteorologists say there is a threat rain moving into our area. The biggest is expected to be her tomorrow afternoon.

About 65,000 people are expected to attend this year's Oktoberfest. It started Thursday and goes until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Organizers admit that holding a festival in the fall has its complications, but they say they're prepared if the park gets hit by severe weather.

For example, one of the committee members is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. He spends the weekend behind a laptop on the grounds at Riverparks West watching the radar and keeping track on the weather as it makes its way into town.

If a big storm hits the area, organizers say they have an evacuation plan, but they say, the best place during bad weather is to just hang out in the tents. They're rated for winds as high as 140 miles an hour.

"Everything's been checked, double checked, triple checked, and everybody should be absolutely fine but in the event that we're questioning the weather, we're certainly going to evacuate people prior to," said Captain Shawn King of the Tulsa Police.

The festival runs until 11:30 tonight and tomorrow.

There are shuttles available to the park.
