Woman Killed in Norman House Fire

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A woman was killed in a house fire in Norman in the 1100 block of West Indian Hills Road.

Fire crews were called to the scene just before 12:30 Friday afternoon. One person was found dead.

Norman Fire Deputy Chief Bailey said the victim was an adult female and was found in a bedroom.

The woman's name has not been released.

Officials say the blaze was brought under control in about 10 minutes, and flames were contained to the bedroom and an attic area. Preliminary damage has been estimated at $30,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
