OKLAHOMA CITY -- Students attending James L. Dennis Elementary School will return to their school building next week after strong storms heavily damaged the building back in September.

Strong winds tore back the roof on the school while heavy rain drenched classrooms and the library inside. For more than a month, students have been attending classes in two nearby schools and a church. Crews have been drying out the school and repairs are just about complete.

On Monday students will walk through the doors of the new and improved school. The school will have a new roof, light fixtures, carpet, heating and air units as well as new books in the library.

A special assembly will be held Monday morning at 8:30.
