MOORE, Oklahoma – Moore police say a student at Moore High School was arrested after an officer found the teen in possession of a firearm.
Moore police saw the sophomore smoking across the street from Moore High School. The student looked too young to be smoking so the officer approached him.
Jeremy Lewis, the Moore Police Department Public Information Officer, said when the officer searched the student's backpack, he found a .38 caliber pistol.
The student was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center in Norman. His bond was set at $25,000 dollars.
Lewis said usually in cases like this, the student will be banned from school for an entire calendar year.
