OKLAHOMA CITY -- A state icon was laid to rest Monday afternoon. The funeral for Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Marian Opala was held at All Souls' Episcopal Church.
Opala, who was from Poland, was captured by the Nazis and survived living in a POW camp. He later became a U.S. citizen and was appointed to the State Supreme Court in 1978.
The 89-year-old died last week following a stroke.
