OKLAHOMA CITY -- Some Oklahoma City firefighters traded their usual navy blue uniforms for pastel pink T-shirts.

The firefighters are wearing and selling the shirts to raise money to fight breast cancer. They are also selling wrist bands.

All the money raised will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and to firefighters who have family members battling breast cancer.

Phil Sipe, the president of the Local 157 Firefighters Union, said it may seem strange to see firefighters wearing pink, but they're happy to do whatever they can to fight the potentially deadly disease.

"We think it's very important to support our families," Sipe said. "Our association has always been about that, about taking care of the citizens and our own."

Sipe said firefighters have raised $25,000 in two weeks. They hoped to raise another $25,000 by the end of October.

To buy the t-shirts and wristbands, head to the IAFF Local Fire Union 157 located at 157 N.W. 6th Street in Oklahoma City or call (405) 232-9543 for more info.
