OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man for driving under the influence of drugs while an infant was in the car with him.
According to the sheriff's office, a deputy pulled over 24-year-old Joshua Lee Dean for not using his turn signal. The deputy could smell marijuana from inside the vehicle and saw an infant in the back seat when he went up to the driver's side door to speak with Dean. The deputy said Dean's speech was slurred and was unsteady on his feet.
The deputy located a baggie that appeared to be filled with marijuana as well as an open bottle of whiskey in the vehicle.
According to the deputy, when he removed the child from the vehicle, the child's hair smelled of marijuana.
The child belonged to Dean's girlfriend, according to the sheriff's office.
Dean was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on complaints of driving under the influence of drugs, child endangerment, possession of marijuana, transporting an open container of alcohol, improper right turn and driving a motor vehicle without a license.
