UNDATED -- Oklahoma's Democratic Party says it has big problems with a several polls that gives Mary Fallin a double-digit lead over Jari Askins in the race for governor.

SoonerPoll says Congresswoman Fallin has a 16-point advantage over the sitting Lieutenant Governor.

The Oklahoma Democratic Party is criticizing SoonerPoll's sample size and claims SoonerPoll has a history of inaccurate results.

The Party points out that SoonerPoll predicted Askins would lose the Democratic primary to strong frontrunner Drew Edmondson.

"Jari Askins has already proven SoonerPoll wrong and we expect her to do so in November also," said Todd Goodman, Oklahoma Democratic Party.

News On 6 wrongly reported Monday night that the Democratic Party did not dispute a recent Rasmussen poll that put Askins behind by 26 points.

The Democratic Party did in fact dispute that poll's findings, saying in a statement: "Many have reported on the conservative skew of the Rasmussen polls in the recent elections."
