HARRAH, Oklahoma -- A Harrah mother said she is fed up with her child's school bus driver and wants the district to step in, but the district said the driver's record is clean.

Belinda Twyman said the Harrah School District has been ignoring her complaints.

Several students that ride bus number 10 in Harrah said it's only a matter of time before the bus driver injures someone or gets into a wreck.

"He hits dogs, and he hits cars and mailboxes," said Joshua Humphrey, who rides bus 10.

The district would not give the bus driver's full name but said Steve drives bus number 10 and has been with the district for over five years. In that time, Twyman said she has made numerous complaints about Steve's driving.

"We need to get him permanently removed from driving a bus, period," Twyman said. "He's very dangerous. He's run me off the road several times."

NEWS 9 wanted to test Twyman's claims and followed Steve on his bus route. Steve did not do anything out of the ordinary and did not even drive over the speed limit.

The assistant superintendent of Harrah School District said Steve has never had a wreck and is in good standing.

As for the dog that Humphrey claimed Steve hit, two high school students said he did hit the dog, but it was an accident and the dog ran out in front of the bus.

The assistant superintendent said it's possible Twyman is upset with the bus driver because her son has been suspended from riding the bus.
