OKLAHOMA CITY -- The three candidates for the 5th Congressional District will discuss public safety issues during a gathering of paramedic students at the state Capitol.

Republican James Lankford, Democrat Billy Coyle and independent Clark Duffe will speak Monday to up to 100 students from Oklahoma City Community College's Emergency Medical Services program.

Organizer Rodney Johnson says the forum will be an opportunity for the candidates to address public safety issues, particularly emergency medical services.

It's the fourth year that paramedic students have met with political leaders. Previous meetings have focused on leadership, the need to become involved in the political process and how the legislative process works.
