DURANT, Oklahoma -- Authorities say the body of a man who drowned in a pond has been recovered in Bryan County.
The sheriff's office received a call about 5:23 p.m. Thursday that a man had been under water for 45 minutes and three men were looking for him. Dive teams from several agencies looked for the victim Thursday evening and found the man after resuming the search Friday morning.
Undersheriff Ken Golden told the Durant Daily Democrat the victim, whose name hasn't been released, either had gotten out of a boat or was trying to get back in a boat when he went under and never resurfaced.
The drowning remains under investigation.
