OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City mother was arrested for shoplifting and accused of leaving her child locked in her car for close to an hour.

An Oklahoma City Family Dollar employee and a customer stopped Alice Rose Holland, 25, after they said she tried to steal about $1,500 worth of merchandise.

Holland had her 4-year-old daughter by her side the whole time. Moments after Holland was confronted, witnesses said she bolted outside and grabbed a baby from inside her car.

Police say the baby boy was flushed and heat radiated from his body.

The baby was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

Police arrested Holland and booked her into jail.
