OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City's first newly constructed fire station in 15 years will open this Wednesday, September 29.
The state of the art facility features the most advanced fire station alerting system, individual sleeping quarters, a dedicated de-con area, EMS gear room and a large rig room with infrared heating.
The most functional aspects of the station are the safety enhanced rig bay doors and the design of the sleeping quarters, which include private storage for firefighters on all three shifts.
The $2.7 million station is being funded through the 2000 General Obligation Bond Issue.
The new station is located at 14200 Hogback Road.
