Oklahoma's Own: Adrianna Iwasinski

Adrianna Iwasinski

Adrianna Iwasinski, a familiar face to many, rejoined the News 9 team as a reporter in June 2010. She earned a journalism degree with a concentration in broadcast News from the University of Texas, where she was awarded a Headliners Scholarship. After college, she gained a wealth of experience working as a general assignment evening reporter at KOCO-5 in Oklahoma City. Iwasinski also worked as a general assignment evening reporter and fill-in anchor at KXXY-25 in Waco, Texas and KVII-7 in Amarillo, Texas. During her time at KXXY, she covered the high profile Lake Waco Murders and execution of David Wayne Spence as well as the recovery efforts during the aftermath of an F-5 tornado in Jarrell, Texas.

Iwasinski then joined the News 9 team in 1999. She reported from New York during the one-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and received a NPPA Honorable Mention in 2003 for "9/11 anniversary-Rice Family" in New York City. Iwasinski also covered two high profile death row executions in McAlester and has been a keynote speaker and panelist for the local chapter of Crime Victims Services.

From 2008 to 2009, Iwasinski was coordinator for the OKC Bowl for Kids' Sake, the signature fundraising event for the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma organization. She has also been involved with Women in Communications.
