Spencer Man Found Severely Beaten; Authorities Search for Suspects

Police are investigating a severe beating that left a man in critical condition Friday night. SPENCER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputies found a man severely beaten in the front yard of a Spencer home Friday evening.

Mark Myers with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said deputies received a call about 8:30 p.m. regarding a man in his late 30s or early 40s who was unconscious with a severe laceration to the back of his head.

A woman told deputies she saw several men in front of the home. She went inside and came back out to find a victim was laid out in front yard, and two men who were speaking to the victim were no where to be found, according to Myers.

Neighbors want the violence to stop.

"I want everyone to come together and stop this violence," said Spencer resident Derrick Alexander. "I've been standing over here for 19 years, and I've seen more dead bodies in this area - Spencer and Midwest City. Stuff needs to stop, in my neighborhood."

Deputies have identified one of the men as a person of interest and are attempting to find him to determine what happened.

On Saturday morning, the man was still listed in critical condition in a local hospital.
