OKLAHOMA CITY -- A jury convicted an Oklahoma City man Thursday of two counts of first-degree murder for the killings of two women on Independence Day.

Brian Madden Jr. murdered 33-year-old old Kristan Bruner and 29-year-old Shalese Frazier in July 2008. Their bodies were found in a car on N.E. 34th Street in Spencer. They'd both been shot in the head.

Prosecutors said the Madden used one of the victim's cell phones to call his girlfriend and ask her to pick him up just a few blocks from the murder scene. They said he then bragged about a fight he had with the two victims.

Prosecutors have recommended 25-year-old Madden be sentenced to life in prison. He'll be sentenced October 22.
