OKLAHOMA CITY -- Jari Askins and Mary Fallin discussed issues facing cities and towns at a gubernatorial forum hosted by the Oklahoma Municipal League.

The Oklahoma Impact Team moderated Wednesday's event at the Cox Convention Center.

Candidates answered questions on topics ranging from water resource plans to the state's projected billion-dollar budget shortfall, to controversial State Question 744.

Democratic candidate Jari Askins and Republican candidate Mary Fallin spoke out about jobs, local government and governmental waste. The economy was also a hot topic, especially since the state could experience a billion dollar budget hole for the next fiscal year.

Askins also discussed relying on all legislators to address budget concerns. Fallin committed to making government more efficient.
