Oklahoma City Man Arrested for Raping a Child

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police have arrested a 42-year-old Oklahoma City man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

Officers said Franklin Edward Ross had assaulted the girl for several years but she just told her mother about the abuse in May.

The victim's mother said the girl was so traumatized at first she couldn't say what happened, so she typed the words "Edward raped me" on her cell phone.

The girl then revealed Ross started molesting her when she was three years old. The victim told police the attacks happened when she was left alone with the suspect at her grandparents' house. She said Ross also assaulted her in his pickup truck.

Ross faced a charge of child rape. His first court date has not been set.
