The Oklahoma History Center is holding a student art contest and this year's theme is "Faces of Oklahoma: Notable Oklahomans & Their Accomplishments."

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma History Center is holding a student art contest and this year's theme is "Faces of Oklahoma: Notable Oklahomans & Their Accomplishments."

Students are invited to enter artwork featuring Oklahomans from entertainers and musicians, to politicians and leaders, historical figures, innovators, artists or other notable people from the state.

The contest is open to students from grades 1-5, 6-8 and 9-12. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category. The contest is open from September 20 - October 29, 2010.

Entries will be judged on relation to the theme, creativity and technique.

Winners will be announced on November 19 online at OKHistory.org/kids and all entries will be displayed on the website.

Winners and honorable mentions will be exhibited at the Oklahoma History Center beginning November 19.
