OKLAHOMA CITY -- The FBI has launched a search for a man who robbed a bank in southwest Oklahoma City Monday morning.

Agents said the man entered the Bank of the West at S.W. 89th Street and S. Penn Avenue just before 9:30 a.m.  He showed the teller a note demanding money. The note also indicated the robber had a gun, but the teller did not see the weapon.

The robber took the money and left the bank. No one saw which way he went or if he had a car. No one was hurt in the robbery.

Agents have released a description of the robber:

  • Native American or Hispanic male

  • Approximately 200 to 220 pounds
  • Black and gray hair drawn back into a ponytail

Investigators said the robber also wore a red baseball cap, blue jeans and a dark-colored T-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to the FBI at 405-290-7770. You can remain anonymous.
