NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The man police said opened fire at Lake Thunderbird, putting an elementary school on alert, was arrested and is now behind bars.

The U.S. Marshal's office said David Duncan is in jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Duncan shot another man, 27-year-old Randy Hayes, who showed up wounded not too far from Lakeview Elementary.

On Thursday Hayes was listed in stable condition at an area hospital. He is recovering from multiple bullet wounds.

Police searched the area around the lake Wednesday but didn't find Duncan until Friday.
