Bob Barry Sr. to Retire as OU Play-by-Play Announcer after This Year

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Bob Barry's 50th year as a broadcaster will be his last.

The longtime football and basketball announcer said that he will retire after the 2010-11 academic year. Barry is the current play-by-play commentator at OU for both sports.

"It's time," he said in the announcement. "I had been thinking about it for a couple years and kind of pointing toward this year as my last. The time just felt right."
