63-year-old Killed in Head-On Collision Near Lake Thunderbird

A driver was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9 near Lake Thunderbird Monday night.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- A driver was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9 near Lake Thunderbird Monday night.

The crash happened just after 7 p.m. Police said David Glen Jackson, of Macomb, was driving a pick-up headed west on Highway 9. Two women in another pick-up were going the opposite direction. The driver, 20-year-old Nichole Dezaray Patterson of Newalla, swerved into the eastbound lane, hitting the white truck head-on.

Jackson, 63, died at the scene of the crash.

Patterson and passenger 37-year-old Mary Elizabeth Albrecht of Newalla, were taken to area hospitals. Patterson's condition is unknown. Albrecht is in serious but stable condition.

It is unclear what caused the car to swerve and hit the truck.
