OKLAHOMA CITY -- Landmark bowling alley 66 Bowl has planned a huge auction to sell off hundreds of items as it prepares to close its doors for good.

Jim Haynes has owned 66 Bowl for more than 30 years. He announced in June that he would close the bowling alley on old Route 66 and replace it with the Spices of India grocery store.

Among the items up for sale are the 66 Bowl iconic sign, televisions, computers, bowling balls, hundreds of pairs of bowling shoes, beer coolers and a popcorn machine.

The auction was scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 at 10:00 a.m. at the bowling alley, but it has been postponed until October 1. Bidders can place advanced bids at the bowling alley. People will also be able to bid online.

The 66 Bowl will close September 3.
