Oil Rig Accident Injures Worker in Oklahoma County

Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies said a man was injured while working on an oil rig Thursday morning.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputies said a man was injured while working on an oil rig Thursday morning.

Deputies said they were called to N.E. 36th Street and Harrah Road at about 9:15 a.m. where they found a 35-year-old man with lacerations to his head and leg. Muscle on his leg was exposed.

Witnesses said a pulley system came loose with a block, weighing between 2,000 to 2,500 pounds, hit the man and knocked him down.

The man was taken to OU Medical Center. His current condition and name were not released.
