Oklahoma Voters Decide on Several School & City Bond Issues, Measures

Several communities voted on school and city bond issues and different measures in Tuesday's election.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Several communities voted on school and city bond issues and different measures in Tuesday's election.

According to state law, school bonds must pass with at least 60 percent of the vote, while city bonds must get a simple majority to pass.

  • Noble School District: $22.7 Million Bond - Passed
                                             $530,000 Bond - Passed
  • City of Enid: $20 Million Bond - Passed
  • Guthrie School District: $89.7 Million Bond - Failed
  • Thackerville School District: $5.4 Million Bond - Failed
  • Mt. View-Gotebo School District: $1.42 Million Bond - Failed
                                                               $580,000 Bond - Failed
  • Drummond School District: $2.8 Million Bond - Passed
  • Stuart School District: $1.6 Million Bond - Passed
                                            $325,000 Bond - Passed
  • Aline-Cleo School District: $200,000 Bond - Failed
                                                    $180,000 Bond - Passed

Oklahoma City voters passed a measure that allows ONG to continue its franchise agreement with the city, giving ONG the right-of-ways to transport, distribute and sell natural gas for the next 25 years.

Logan County voters approved a measure with 77 percent of the vote to extend a fire sales tax there.

Meanwhile two measures in Norman both failed. One measure was to increase the sanitation rate and the other was to approve new water rates.

Deer Creek Fire District voters approved to annex land.

The City of Ada passed a one-cent sales tax with 63 percent of the vote. Meanwhile the City of Seminole approved an extension of a half-cent tax.
