YUKON, Oklahoma – Three teenagers were arrested in connection to mailbox and car vandalism in Yukon.

Officers arrested two 16-year-old Yukon males and a 17-year-old Oklahoma City teen for multiple counts of malicious destruction of property and public intoxication Friday. Residents called the police about 11 p.m. to report damaged mailboxes, loud noises and a suspicious pick-up truck driving through neighborhoods.

Based upon the description given by witnesses, police Captain Gary Knight stopped a truck matching the description and found three teenagers in the truck with a baseball bat. The teenagers admitted to smashing "quite a few" mailboxes and windows of cars with the bat.

The boys were arrested, booked and released to their parents. The suspects' names will not be released because they are minors.

More than a dozen mailboxes were reportedly damaged and at least a half dozen cars were damaged. It appears the suspects used a baseball bat to hit mailboxes and car windows, and in one case, a bowling ball was thrown at a car.

Reported damaged mailboxes and car windows were located in McKinney Heights, Shedeck, and Parkland neighborhood additions, among others.

If your property was damaged call to the Yukon Communications Center to file a report or incident at 405-354-1711.
