Woman Killed in Wreck on I-35 Just South of Purcell

PURCELL, Oklahoma -- A woman was killed in a single vehicle wreck on Interstate 35 just south of Purcell Monday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said 56-year-old Karen Disney of Tulsa was killed when she lost control and hit the guardrail. The vehicle then rolled and came to rest on the roof. Troopers said Disney was wearing a seatbelt but the airbags in her car did not deploy.

Disney died at the scene from injuries sustained during the crash.

The outside southbound lane of I-35 at mile marker 87 was closed for more than two hours due to the incident.
