Woman Dies in Collision with Semi in Del City

A woman has died after the driver of the car she was in ran into the back of a tractor-trailer rig at about 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

DEL CITY, Oklahoma – A woman has died after the driver of the car she was in ran into the back of a tractor-trailer rig at about 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

The tractor-trailer was parked on the side of Interstate-40 near Sunnylane Road with its emergency lights on when a pick-up truck slammed into it.

The passenger in the pick-up truck, 37-year-old Katharina Renee Madrid, died on the scene from massive injuries. The driver of the car, 26-year-old Ryan T. Jacobs, was taken to the hospital to be treated for head, trunk, arm, and leg injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, 47-year-old Camarillo A. Espinoza, was not injured.
