MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma – Midwest City police arrested a father and son accused of stealing a police decoy trailer equipped with a GPS tracking device.

Police say the trailer was moved from the area near southeast 15th Street and Midwest Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Monday. Officers used the GPS to track the device to I-40 and Choctaw Road, where they arrested 41-year-old Thomas Beach Scott and his son, 20-year-old Kyle Travis Scott. They were charged with grand larceny, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

This is the third arrest Midwest City Police have made using a bait trailer. The department has placed several decoys throughout the city to crack down on these kinds of thefts.

"It is amazing to us that after we have publicized on numerous occasions our bait trailer program and aggressive approach to these kinds of thefts, stupid and greedy people continue to commit this type of crime," Chief Brandon Clabes said.

Both suspects are being held in the Midwest City Police Department jail. Thomas Scott has a bond of $9,000 and Kyle Scott's bond is $5,500.
