OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Clinton teen was killed Saturday afternoon on Interstate 44 in northeast Oklahoma City.

Jillian Woodard, 17, was a passenger in a car occupied by five Clinton teenagers that crashed into an abandoned pickup truck parked on the shoulder of the highway, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at about 3:25 p.m. just west of Kelley Avenue on I-44. Troopers say the 2000 Subaru Forester was driven by 18-year-old Kalea Gorshing of Clinton.

Gorshing attempted to change lanes from the middle lane to the outside lane of the highway, the trooper's report states. Another vehicle was in the outside lane, and Gorshing swerved left then overcorrected to the right. The Forester left the highway to the right striking an abandoned 1986 Dodge Ram pickup.

Gorshing was treated and released at a local hospital. One passenger, 18-year-old Lori Ooley, was admitted in serious condition with head injuries to a local hospital.

Nineteen-year-old Misty Walker and a male passenger, 17-year-old Redbird Hammond, were also treated and released at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Woodard died at the hospital due to massive internal injuries, the report states.

The driver and Walker were wearing seat belts, but the other teens were not. The trooper's report states the vehicle was equipped with airbags, but they did not deploy.

The driver's condition at the time of the accident is listed as apparently normal. Cause of the accident is unsafe lane change.
