TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police arrested a suspect Friday night in the death of a woman who's body was found in a residential trash cart near Virgin and Utica Friday morning, August 13.

The woman was originally reported missing on August 2.

Brandon Hall, 19, is in police custody.  Police said Hall strangled Samita Gibson, 18.  Gibson's body was found in a trash container in the parking lot of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

According to the arrest report, Hall told detectives that Gibson argued with him about hitting his girlfriend. During the argument he started choking her and at some point she stopped breathing.

Hall allegedly told police he put Gibson's body in the closet and left it there until August 12 when he took the body from his upstairs bedroom and placed it in the trash car he took from a nearby apartment complex.

Wiley Roberson, a church member doing some routine maintenance on the church, noticed the rolling trash container in the parking lot when he showed up Friday morning about 8:30.  Roberson said that they use a private service, so a city of Tulsa trash cart was out of place.

Roberson called police after he smelled a foul odor and looked inside and saw what he believed to be a body.

"What I glanced at, didn't look too good to me, so I just closed it back up," he said.

Tulsa Police say the trash container was rolled into the church's parking lot sometime either late Thursday night or early Friday morning,

"It's disturbing; it's disturbing - that someone would dispose of a body like this," said Officer Leland Ashley with the Tulsa Police Department.

"This individual was somebody's daughter, possibly someone's mother," he said.

Church members expressed their shock over the body's discovery.

"It's a sad thing when you can't even go out in your own neighborhood and be able to enjoy the day without walking across some dead body, or drug deal, or some kind of tragedy," said Pastor James Brewer.
