OKLAHOMA CITY -- Because of the triple-digit temperatures, OG&E has issued an electricity advisory.
Company officials said the system is working at maximum power, and OG&E set several records last week for electricity demand.
OG&E officials are now asking customers to conserve energy, especially during the key times of the day between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Here are some tips to help conserve energy:
- Raise your air conditioner thermostat to 78 degrees or somewhere near there
- Keep blinds and drapes closed, especially along walls facing the south and west
- Don't use ovens, clothes dryers or dishwashers
- Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible.
