DUNCAN, Oklahoma -- A memorial service was held Friday morning for Charles Buckman, who was killed in Afghanistan.

The 39-year-old was shot and killed last Tuesday by an Afghan army sergeant. He was working as a civilian instructor. He was one of four who died when an Afghan sergeant opened fire.

Friday's memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church in Buckman's hometown of Duncan. He will be buried later in a private ceremony at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin.

Buckman spent six years with the Lawton Police Department. He leaves behind a wife, two daughters and a son.
