MOORE, Oklahoma – A Moore cheerleader traded tumbling for tackling over the weekend.
Kealey Oliver brought down a thief who was making a break for the mall exit. The high school junior was on the phone with her mom when she saw the man dart past her.
"I was like, um, 'Hang on Mom,' and I put the phone down, and when he got close to me, I just got in his way, and just grabbed him, and like he kept trying to run, so I just slammed him on the ground, " Oliver said.
Kealey pinned the suspect until mall security could catch up. Her friends are impressed she pulled off the take-down in a strapless dress. Officers are impressed that she ended up with nothing more than a scratch on her arm, and a bruised left knee.
