Restaurant Employees Hold Armed Robbery Suspect Until Norman Police Arrive

Norman Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Wednesday at an Asian buffet restaurant.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – Norman Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Wednesday at an Asian buffet restaurant.

Police responded to a call at the restaurant, 149 12th Avenue S.E., where employees had confronted and held the suspect until officers arrived.

Employees told police that 29-year-old Eric Arthur Zimmerman had entered the restaurant with a gun and tried to take money out of the register. While employees subdued Zimmerman a shot was fired.

No one was hit or injured in the struggle.

Zimmerman was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center on robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery with a deadly weapon complaints.
