Edmond Man Faces Charges of Lewd Acts with 9-Year-Old

EDMOND, Oklahoma -- Police arrested a man after a 9-year-old girl said he touched her inappropriately, according to a police report.

Police said the girl told her mother that James Hampton, 55, asked her to babysit his 1-year-old grandson while he mowed the yard. However, when the girl went over to Hampton's home, she did not see or hear any young children.

The report stated Hampton asked the victim to "put a swim suit on and began rubbing lotion on her legs." The victim also told police that Hampton "rubbed lotion under her pants."

The report also stated that Hampton had tried to "wrestle" with the girl and was apparently trying to get on top of her.

Hampton was arrested and now faces four charges of lewd acts with a child under 16 years of age.
