OKLAHOMA CITY -- U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin was not able to vote for herself in her race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination after she was called to Washington, D.C. for a vote.
Fallin spokesman Alex Weintz said Fallin flew to Washington, D.C. at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday to vote on a supplemental funding bill for the war in Afghanistan. Weintz said Fallin learned Monday night she would have to leave.
Fallin was scheduled to vote in Oklahoma at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Deer Creek Middle School in Edmond.
Dozens of Fallin's supporters are gathered at the Will Rogers Theatre to watch numbers roll in and Fallin will be missing most of the watch party.
Fallin's staff said she should land at Wiley Post 9:05 p.m. and make a speech at the watch party around 10 in the evening.
Fallin faces state Sen. Randy Brogdon of Owasso and Oklahoma City area businessman Robert Hubbard and Roger Jackson in the GOP primary.
