OKLAHOMA CITY – Voters are heading to the polls today to vote in the primary elections.

The ballot is loaded with local and judicial races, contests for both U.S. and state House and Senate seats and several statewide races.

Five statewide seats currently held by Democrats are open; they include governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state treasurer and state school superintendent.

Election officials expect a larger than normal turnout in this primary election. They said significantly more voters turn out for primary elections when there's an open governor's seat.

Hear the candidates speak for themselves on our Primary Election Guide.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

At 7 p.m. News9.com will be live chatting and streaming a breakdown of the election. You can also find election results beginning at 7 p.m. on NEWS 9 and News9.com.
