OKLAHOMA CITY -- A preliminary hearing is underway for the killing of a popular Edmond homeless man known as "Bicycle Bob."

Dwite Morgan, who was also known around Edmond as "Bicycle Bob," was found murdered in October of 2009.

The 54 year old was repeatedly stabbed with a knife and hit with a hammer where he usually slept in Downtown Edmond.

Three 19-year olds, Connor Mason, Nikolas Kerr and Heather Parker, are charged in his death.

An Oklahoma County judge spent Wednesday listening to testimony to see if there's enough evidence to go to trial.

Mason was charged with first-degree murder in connection Morgan's death. A clean-shaven Mason was in court Wednesday and displayed little emotion.

Parker's husband Shaun took the stand as a witness Wednesday and testified that he was scared and he wanted his wife to confess to the crime.

Parker was charged with accessory to murder. However, her sentence was reduced after she agreed to testify against Mason. Parker was released from prison Wednesday evening since she has served longer than 90 days in jail. Parker will be on probation for five months.

"The evidence that we had on Miss Parker was probably a bit thin, and we chose to amend the charge to a misdemeanor, which better conformed with what the evidence was that we had. Miss Parker did, as part of her deal, agree to testify. We were going to call her today. However, we ran out of time, so we feel that her testimony is going to be rather important in the prosecution of this case," said Oklahoma County Assistant D.A. Kevin Etherington.

Travis Jim told police he found Morgan's body covered in blood at his campsite back in October. He initially confessed to the murder but later told police he made up the story after being interviewed for hours. Jim told police he just wanted to get out of the interview and being in jail was somewhere to sleep and eat.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled to continue on September 29 at 9 a.m.

Prosecutors also reduced Nikolas Kerr's charges to accessory to murder. His pre-trial hearing is set for August.
