OKLAHOMA CITY -- Although filming hasn't begun, the indie flick "Bringing Up Bobby" is being shot in Oklahoma City, production crews confirmed.
A source with Oklahoma County said they have been contacted about shooting scenes inside the Oklahoma County Courthouse. There is also a request to scout out the Logan County Courthouse.
The film may be independent, but it is packed with Hollywood elites. It is written and directed by Famke Janssen, who's known more for her on camera rolls, most recently in the X-men series.
The film will star Milla Jovovich, who is playing a con-artist, Marcia Cross as a foster mother, and Bill Pullman. Spencer List, who is a 12-year-old newcomer to the screen, will play the role of Bobby.
Edmond native David Johndrow and his wife Maryann are executive producers on the film. They own HR Logics and Johndrow Vinyards in Napa Valley. This is their first time producing a movie.
"Bringing Up Bobby" is about a European con-artist named Olive and her son, Bobby, who find themselves in Oklahoma after an escape effort. A majority of the filming will be done inside a courtroom.
Even though the production staff is saying little, the stars are a little more forthcoming. On her Twitter page, Jovovich posted about flying to Oklahoma City to start work on her new film. Wednesday she posted "Well, off 2 costume fitting 4 my new film "Bringing Up Bobby"! Hello OKC!!!"
"Bringing Up Bobby" is the latest in a string of movies that have been filmed in Oklahoma.
