OHP: Suspicious Package Investigation Temporarily Shuts Portion of Eastbound I-40

Posted: Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Interstate 40 eastbound was shut down for about 48 minutes just west of Classen Boulevard so that crews could investigate a suspicious package, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Oklahoma City police said they removed two suitcases during their investigation and found a name in one of the suitcases. Police then contacted an elderly woman, who said she had filled the two suitcases with items for the homeless and left them there as a charitable act.
