ENID, Oklahoma – Enid police arrested an 18-year-old drunk driver who was wielding a BB gun after a short chase.

Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers got a call about a drunk male who was brandishing a handgun near 80 E. Oklahoma.

When officers arrived, Brandon Dale Kennington fled the scene in a red Dodge Neon. Kennington proceeded to accelerate and slam on the brakes of his vehicle several times in an attempt to force officers to crash into him. Police said he also pointed the firearm at a deputy during the chase.

Stop sticks were deployed, forcing the car to a safe stop. No one was injured during the pursuit.

The gun was determined to be a BB gun that looked like a semi-automatic handgun.

The 18-year-old was arrested on complaints of felony eluding, feloniously pointing a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, no driver's license, no insurance, resisting arrest and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Kennington also had three outstanding Garfield County felony warrants for 2nd degree burglary and was booked into Garfield County Detention Center.
